Enantiomerically pure vasicinone, rutaecarpine, isaindigotone, and luotonin were synthesized from readily available starting materials like hydroxyproline, nitrobenzaldehyde, pyrrolidine, and piperidine in two to four operational steps without chromatography. The antifungal activity of all products was tested.
