Step 1: To a stirred solution of [5] (2.0g, 10.47mmol), vinyl acetate (10.0ml, lOO.Ommol) was added at room temperature. After an additional stirring for 5 minutes at same temperature, PS-IM (0.20g, 10%) was added. The reaction temperature was allowed to increase up to 40C and stirring was continued for 16 h. Reaction mixture was passed through the bed of celite and evaporated to dryness which was further purified using silica gel column chromatography using 10% ethyl acetate/hexane as eluent to afford [6](0.9g, 45%)and [7] (0.8g, 40%) as transparent sticky material.
