[0593] N-( 4-chloro-5-cyanopyridin-2-yl)-7-( dimethoxymethyl)-3,4-dihydro-1 ,8-naphthyridine-1 (2H)carboxamide(intermediate 21, 50 mg, 0.129 mmol) and4-methylpiperidin-4-ol (21.5 mg, 0.142 mmol) were dissolvedin DMF (1 ml) under argon. The mixture was stirred at100 C. for 16 h.[0594] An excess of 4-methylpiperidin-4-ol was added tothe mixture and stirred for 45 min at 100 C. The reactionmixture was diluted in EtOAc and washed 2x with sat. aq.NH4 Cl and brine. The organic layer was dried over Na2S04 ,filtered and concentrated under vacuum. The crude materialwas purified by normal phase chromatography ( 4 g silica gel cartridge, heptanes/EtOAc 100:0 to 0:100) to give the titlecompound as an off-white solid.
