N-benzyl-3-piperidinol (1.90 g, 9.93 mmol) was dissolved in THF: MeOH 1: 1, with 20% Pd/C (0.5 g) and subjected to 50 psi of hydrogen gas for 16 hours. The crude product was then filtered through celite and then concentrated in vacuo.
